Claire Blencowe

Claire Blencowe is Professor of Sociology at the University of Warwick, UK. She teaches Modern Social Theory and Religion and the Planetary Crises. In 2025-2026, she was a research fellow at The Käte Hamburger Centre for Apocalyptic and Post-Apocalyptic Studies at Heidelberg University. From September 2026, she will be leading a five-year project on Religious Authority in Extractive Industry Struggles (RAIDS), funded by the European Research Council.
