Lorenza Cantoni

Lorenza Bottacin Cantoni is a postdoctoral research fellow in moral philosophy at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan, where she works with the Philosophy & Business Unit and is a member of the European Center for Social Ethics (ECSE). She sits on the editorial board of PHILM. Rivista di filosofia e cinema and is a 2026 Herbert Marcuse Fellow of the International Herbert Marcuse Society. Her research moves between aesthetics and Frankfurt School critical theory, with a focus on visual representations of war. She is the author of Metafore per l'altro (Mimesis, 2021), on Levinas, and of a philosophical-political biography of Susan Sontag forthcoming with Carocci. In 2026 she obtained the Italian national habilitation as associate professor in three separate fields, from theoretical and moral philosophy to aesthetics.
