William Stell is a Faculty Fellow in the Department of Religious Studies at New York University, where he teaches courses on American religions. He is the author of Born Again Queer: A History of Evangelical Gay Activism and the Making of Antigay Christianity (Princeton University Press, 2026). His articles have appeared in the Journal of the History of Sexuality, American Religion, Church History, Theology and Sexuality, Disability Studies Quarterly, and The Immanent Frame.
