CFP – New Directions in African Political Theologies

Scholars and practitioners based in Africa are encouraged to submit a paper proposal on the topic “New Directions in African Political Theologies.”

Scholars and practitioners based in Africa are encouraged to submit a paper proposal on the topic “New Directions in African Political Theologies.” Successful applicants will be invited to a symposium the first week of November 2022 held in Leuven, Belgium, which will lead to a projected edited volume on African political theology, for Routledge’s Transforming Political Theologies book series. Proposals should follow these guidelines: 

• Scholar or practitioner is based in Africa 
• Proposals run 700-1000 words (no longer than 1000) 
• Proposals fit within the themes of this short article:  //politicaltheology.com/new-directions-in-african-political-theologies/

Proposals on various religious traditions are welcome, including indigenous traditions, Islam, Christianity, and others. Various disciplinary backgrounds are also welcome, including but not limited to anthropology, history, theology, and ethics.

Proposals should be submitted to Dr. Simeon Ilesanmi and Dr. Ross Kane via this google form. Proposals are due March 15, 2022.
