Jonathan Cole

Jonathan Cole is Director of the Centre for Religion, Ethics and Society at Charles Sturt University, Canberra, Australia. He is the author of The Reign of God: A Critical Engagement with Oliver O’Donovan’s Theology of Political Authority (T&T Clark, 2022), Christian Political Theology in an Age of Discontent: Mediating Scripture, Doctrine, and Political Reality (Wipf and Stock, 2019), and the translator of Christos Yannaras, The Effable and the Ineffable: The Linguistic Boundaries of Metaphysical Realism, ed. and intro. Remembering Christos Yannaras (1935–2024)

He was on a lifelong pursuit to understand the deepest structures and meaning of existence, along with the place, purpose and destiny of the human being in it. He was troubled by existence. He found it difficult and challenging to understand, liable to so much delusion and perversion.
