Nicole Symmonds is the Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics at Columbia Theological Seminary and a member of the teaching faculty at the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana. Her work explores the liberative embodiment practices Black women craft as a method of resistance to domination. She has published in the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics, Religions, and the Journal of Moral Theology. Nicole holds membership and leadership within the American Academy of Religion, the Society of Christian Ethics, the Black Catholic Theological Symposium, and the Catholic Theological Society of America. She also sits on several academic editorial and advisory boards and is a member of the Morehouse Collegium of Scholars.
